April 30th: M2 (aka Matthias) arrived last night Dubai via Bahrain. After a chaotic pickup at Dubai airport (A police officer considered a hefty fine because of unauthorized parking. M1 (aka Martin) kept talking to the officer and finally convinced him that he never been by car at the airport and been totally lost 😂😂😂).
We made it to M1’s sweet home late or rather early. The rest of the family was already asleep. We trapped two beers each and jumped into the pool for a double refreshment.
As a short night, M1’s wife Manuela prepared a fantastic breakfast. She had also a little surprise for us: Road Trip Adventure t-shirts.
With a full stomach, we had to stock up the last food items and fill up Landi. Next stop Sharjah Port to start our customs clearance adventure. After we reached Sharjah city limits, we hit the usual traffic. We just been a little nervous as we had only half an hour to spare before the port authorities were supposed to close for the day.
We made it. Only four counters later, a couple of habibis and a ,yes ma’am’, we made it in and had lunch sitting behind our car on our camping chairs.
The rest was waiting at the port for the time to pass…
